Ukraine and Russia are engaged in a very brutal war that has disrupted normalcy in Ukraine. But this war is being fought not only on the grounds but also through media and information. A tweet from a Twitter Blue subscribed account has gone viral with the image of a huge and lavish mansion claimed to belong to the Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.
The tweet has received more than 1.3 million views already and is spreading confusion among people who are already disturbed by war. The tweet reads “The U.S. just announced another $1.3 BILLION aid package to Ukraine. Reminder… here’s a picture of Zelensky’s home. Lol”. However on further investigation it was found that the claims are completely false and the house does not belong to Zelensky. The property shown in the tweet is listed for sale in Beausoleil, France.
People on Twitter have started calling it out as Russian propaganda and an attempt to put a halt to the foreign aid Ukraine is receiving to fight the war. Similar claims were also made about the Ukrainian defense minister buying a mansion in Cannes for his daughter’s wedding and those claims were also quashed instantly. The war has come to the point where both the countries have started resorting to use of mind games and spreading misinformation is one of the biggest weapon for both of them.
