In a strange but symbolic move, a man in Assam’s Nalbari district celebrated his divorce by pouring 40 litres of milk over himself.
The man, Manik Ali from Mukulmuwa village, said the milk bath marked the start of a new chapter in his life.
Manik shared that his wife had run away twice with her lover but returned both times. Despite that, he tried to keep the marriage going for the sake of their child.
But after repeated betrayals, he felt emotionally drained and finally filed for divorce. The court recently granted it.
Feeling free after years of stress, Manik wanted to celebrate in his own way. He said the milk bath was a personal ritual — a way to wash away his painful past and welcome a fresh beginning.
Videos of Manik’s act quickly went viral on social media. While some people supported his way of moving on, others responded with jokes and memes.
But Manik says he doesn’t care about the mockery. He’s ready to leave the pain behind and focus on the future.
