Jasprit Bumrah has been one of the biggest assets of Indian cricket, taking valuable wickets for the team whenever he was needed to do so.
With the ICC Test Bowlers’ rankings released, Bumrah has turned out to be at the top with 901 points, almost 50 points ahead of the second-best in the form of Kagiso Rabada, who has a rating of 851.
While these ratings do show his greatness, they don’t paint the full picture. Unfortunately, India has won only 1 out of 10 last games in which Bumrah has played.
On the contrary, in his absence, 10 out of 10 games have been won by India.
This paints a very contrasting picture. If Bumrah can’t win games for India, then is there any real use for him being on the team at all?
It seems that Bumrah, as a bowler, has been working much more in an individualistic way rather than being beneficial for the team as a whole.
This needs to be changed; otherwise, we’ll just become a losing side that happens to have the world’s best red-ball bowler in their team.
