England’s decision to bat first in the Lord’s game has created a huge ruckus on social media, as people have rightfully pointed out that England’s reluctance to bat first ever since Bazball gained momentum.
Many have pointed this out to be a panic decision, especially considering the fact that India were able to dominate in the last game, both from a bowling and batting perspective.
It seems like Captain Stokes has taken a wrong call in panic, as most cricket gurus claim that the pitch at Lord’s gets much easier to bat on as time passes.
The last game saw England struggling to face Akash Deep. With Jasprit Bumrah making his grand entry for the 3rd game, things will only become all the more tougher for the English side.
With a seemingly horrendous decision to bat first on a pitch they themselves wanted to ‘have more life’, it will be interesting to see how well Stokes and Company can justify their decision, especially as a few of their wickets have already fallen to the Indian pace attack.
