
Gautam Gambhir’s unorthodox moves have turned out to harm Indian test cricket much more than they have done any good.
With India about to go into the 2nd test against England, news has started coming in that Gambhir is likely to include Nitish Reddy and Washington Sundar in the 2nd test, snubbing Kuldeep Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah.

This strategy is not only disastrous, it is also massively flawed in so many places. Test cricket is not IPL where playing as many all-rounders as one can may lead to a decisive advantage over the opponent.
Many people on social media have bashed Gambhir and Gill for the very same reason.

The public has been very blunt in demanding Gambhir’s removal as red-ball coach to save the Indian cricket team.
Gill has been bashed for resonating his tone with Gambhir, only speaking about aggression and taking 20 wickets while doing nothing substantial on the field.

With such immense pressure on the coach and the captain, it will be interesting to see if GG and Gill’s gamble to include Nitish and Sundar works in their favour or if it leads to a 2nd disaster pretty soon.
