The Orange cap which is given to the leading run-getter of the tournament is with Virat Kohli who has been leading the batting charge for RCB. He has scored 316 runs in 5 innings thus far and he deservedly holds the orange cap.
The Purple cap which is given to the leading wicket-taker is with Chennai Super Kings’ Mustafizur Rahman. He has picked up nine wickets in just 4 innings thus far and he is the highest wicket-taker of the tournament thus far.
In sharp contrast, Mustafizur’s wicket-tacking prowess has helped keep Chennai in the top 4 positions while despite Kohli’s tournament-leading batting numbers, RCB is sitting in the next-to-last position.
A defeat in RCB’s match against Mumbai Indians today will essentially mean that the season is over for the Bengaluru based side and they will be looking to avoid the same at any cost.
