India’s fight against England in terms of cricket has taken a very competitive turn. India is now in a position where the next game is a must-win for us if we want to get our hands on the trophy at all.
Amidst all this, sources have revealed that Rishabh Pant, the star wicketkeeper-batter of the Indian team will not be keeping for the 4th game.
Instead, he will only be used as a so-called ‘specialist batter’ who will bat in his own explosive way to score quick and impactful runs by taking a risk.
With Pant being out of the picture for wicketkeeping, murmurs have started to speed up regarding his replacement.
At one place where some want KL Rahul to wear the gloves for the time Pant is out, others are of the view that Jurel should be given a chance for this duty.
While it may be a brilliant strategy to play as a ‘specialist’ in franchise cricket, this kind of behaviour ruins the spirit of test cricket.
If everyone starts being a ‘specialist’ in their roles, we won’t be left with a team. Instead, there will only be individuals who won’t see the situation or the need of the hour but just pick up the bat and play in their own style.
This needs to be taken note of and rectified; otherwise, there would soon be a T20 infestation in the purest form of the game as well.
