India are still waiting for a final decision on Rohit Sharma’s availability for the upcoming ODI series against Afghanistan.
Rohit Sharma was named in the squad, but his participation depends on medical clearance from the BCCI.
With Virat Kohli already ruled out, Rohit’s fitness remains a key concern for the team management.
Batting coach Sitanshu Kotak provided an update after India’s win in the one-off Test against Afghanistan. He said he had not received any official confirmation regarding Rohit and Hardik Pandya.
Despite, he added that both players appear to be in good condition and are expected to complete the required fitness procedures soon.
Rohit recently reported to the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru for fitness assessments.
Hitman must clear the board’s fitness tests before returning to ODI cricket. India have received positive news regarding Hardik Pandya. The all-rounder has reportedly completed his rehabilitation and is expected to be available for the series.
His return will strengthen both India’s batting depth and pace bowling options.
The three match ODI series will be played in Dharamsala, Lucknow and Chennai. A final decision on Rohit’s availability is expected after his fitness tests are completed.
