Shubman Gill in both test matches against England has been nothing but phenomenal as a batter. He has been there for his team through thick and thin, scoring runs with the bat whenever needed.
But he hasn’t just scored runs. He has been fully consistent in that as well. His recent 269 against England proves his skills to the world without a shadow of doubt.
However, if history is anything to go by, Gill’s father may not be so happy with him even after such a show of brilliance.
Even in Gill’s Under 16 days, his father used to go hard on him, letting no praise come out of his mouth even for 100s and 200s.
There was always a goal to do better, and satisfaction was never achieved.
So it won’t be a surprise if Gill’s father doesn’t see eye to eye with him for not seeing it through to 300 runs.
Although this kind of parenting is significantly bad, it does instil a sense of duty in the individual, forcing them to perform better everyday.
With Gill in such a nice form, it will be interesting to see if he can replicate his performance in the 2nd innings of the 2nd test against England.
