Captain Shubman Gill is overperforming all expectations when it comes to the ongoing India tour of England, both as a batter and as a captain.
Gill has been highly consistent with the bat, scoring 585 in the ongoing series. He is now a mere 390 runs away from breaking Don Bradman’s 95-year-old record of the most runs in a test series as a batter.
As a captain, the goal is much closer, with just 225 runs left to beat the big man himself.
Not only that, he has got three whole test matches left to do so. This makes it look like the stars have aligned in Gill’s favour to let him shine both as a batter and a skipper, breaking one of the most prestigious records in the history of test cricket.
While it’s too soon to say anything, Gill’s talent is showing high signs of a big player in the making.
He has already proved himself multiple times, and if things go right, he definitely has the potential to lead the Indian team to heights never thought possible before.
