Siraj 6 Wickets

On Day 3 of the second Test against England at Edgbaston, Siraj showed his class again by picking up 6 wickets and putting India in charge. This wasn’t just a good spell it was a statement.

Siraj took 6/70 in England’s second innings and bowled them out for 407. He is now only the second Indian to take 6 wickets in a Test innings at Edgbaston. The first? Chetan Sharma who did it way back in 1986 with 6/58.

This is also his second best Test figures, just behind his 6/15 against South Africa in Cape Town earlier this year. Siraj has now played 38 Tests and taken 108 wickets at 30.71.

But here’s the real highlight:
• 89 wickets have come away from home.
• 19 wickets have come in home Tests.
Clearly he is more effective outside India.

With this 6 wicket haul Siraj joined Jasprit Bumrah as the only Indian bowlers to take 5 wicket hauls in Australia, England, South Africa and West Indies.

That’s a rare club to be in. And unlike Bumrah he has a 6 fer in both England and South Africa which is no small feat.

Siraj is aggressive, energetic and knows how to use bounce and movement the kind of skills that work well outside India.

When pitches have pace and seam Siraj comes alive. He has bowled his best spells in tough conditions like Brisbane 2021, Cape Town 2024 and now Edgbaston 2025.

He may not be as hyped as Bumrah but Siraj brings impact especially when the team needs a breakthrough.

Siraj isn’t just playing a supporting role anymore he’s leading India’s charge in away Tests.

His 6 wicket haul at Edgbaston is more than just a stat. It’s proof that Siraj is now one of India’s most trusted bowlers outside Asia.

And if he keeps this up Siraj could go on to become one of India’s greatest away Test bowlers.
