India opener Smriti Mandhana has climbed to the No.1 spot in the latest ICC Women’s ODI Rankings for batters. She now holds 790 rating points. Her rise follows consistent performances in the recent ODI series against Australia.
Mandhana scored 58 and 31 in the three match series. Although India lost the contest, her contributions were enough to overtake South Africa captain Laura Wolvaardt. Wolvaardt currently has 782 rating points.
Laura Wolvaardt will have an opportunity to reclaim the top position soon. South Africa are set to face the New Zealand women’s national cricket team in upcoming matches. The battle for the top spot remains open.
Australia wicketkeeper batter Alyssa Healy is placed fourth with 744 points. She recently scored a century in her final ODI. Healy is behind teammate Beth Mooney and ahead of Ashleigh Gardner in the standings.
India captain Harmanpreet Kaur has re entered the top 10. She is ranked ninth after scoring 53, 54 and 25 in the series. Jemimah Rodrigues stands at 12th position.
In the bowling rankings, Australia leg spinner Alana King has moved to No.1. She claimed seven wickets in the series and now has 775 rating points. She replaced Sophie Ecclestone at the top.
India all rounder Deepti Sharma holds 10th place among bowlers. She is also fifth in the ODI all rounder rankings. Ashleigh Gardner continues to lead the all rounder list, followed by West Indies captain Hayley Matthews.
While the series result disappointed India, Mandhana’s achievement stands out as a major positive. Her rise to the top highlights her consistency in the ODI format. The rankings battle is set to intensify in the coming weeks.
