Rishabh Pant is a quality test player, there is absolutely no denying that. He has pulled the Indian Team out of trouble numerous times, when it seemed like all hopes were lost.

Pant’s fabulous century in the 1st test match against England has gone on to reveal his class once again to the cricketing world.

Legends like Sunil Gavaskar, who were present in broadcasting, applauded the WK-batter by showering praises on him.

Sunny G was seen as one of the happiest out there, praising Pant by saying ‘Superb! Superb! Superb!’.

But let’s not get carried away here. It is the same Sunny G, who just a few months back bashed Pant for playing in the exact same way by saying ‘Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!’

Now, the words of these legends mean a lot, both for the general audience as well as for the cricketer they are aimed at.

It is highly unfair to Pant that he was praised when his antics worked and rebuked when the same antics didn’t work.

Sunil Gavaskar should know better to either criticise Pant for his playing style regardless of the outcome, or to praise him and stand with him in times of failure as well.




This kind of two-faced thing can only be termed as hypocrisy, which when coming from such a persona, is not justified at all.
