Ajith Kumar’s Good Bad Ugly (GBU), directed by Adhik Ravichandran, which was released on April 10th, is creating a rampage at the box office in Tamil Nadu.
In this situation, Ilayaraja has sent a legal notice to the GBU team, demanding ₹5 crore as compensation for the unauthorized use of three of his songs.
The legal notice also requests the removal of the songs from the movie and an unconditional apology from the GBU team within seven days.
Adhik Ravichandran used three retro songs composed by Ilayaraja in GBU: Otha Rubai Tharen, Ilamai Idho, and En Jodi Manja Kuruvi.
Following this, social media users have started criticizing Ilayaraja, with some commenting that this behavior was expected, claiming he is more money-minded than artistically driven. They allege this is not his first such action.
It remains to be seen how the GBU team will respond to this. Will they settle the issue amicably, or will it proceed to a court case in the coming days?
