Following the failure of Vaa Vaathiyaar, Karthi is now all set to return with his next release and it is his long pending project Sardar 2 directed by PS Mithran, which is gearing up for a worldwide theatrical release on September 10th.
Simultaneously, Karthi completed shooting his portions for his next film Marshal, helmed by Thamizh. Meanwhile, he is now starring as the lead in a bilingual film tentatively titled Karthi 30 directed by Kalyan Shankar. The shooting of this film is happening at a fast pace and almost 50% of it has already been completed.
In this scenario, Karthi has now officially announced the director for his 31st film. He and director Mohan Raja are joining hands for a commercial entertainer. Shooting for this film is set to start once Karthi completes his prior commitments and it will be produced by Prince Pictures. After Thani Oruvan and Velaikkaran, Karthi 31 marks the third film from the director with his own script.
