After the back to back failures of Jolly O Gymkhana and Badass Ravi Kumar, Prabhu Deva is currently starring as the lead in the film Moonwalk, directed by Manoj NS.
Moonwalk has a decent buzz among Kollywood audiences because, during its grand audio launch event, the makers confirmed that legendary music composer AR Rahman is set to make a cameo appearance in the film.
Over the last few weeks, there has been no buzz or updates regarding the film. Consequently, rumors surfaced that Moonwalk was delayed due to financial issues and that its release might be postponed to next year.
However, according to recent reports, the makers of Moonwalk are planning to target the Diwali release slot, with an official announcement expected soon.
Earlier, Karthi’s Marshal and Simbu’s Arasan attempted to lock in the Diwali release slot, but both films were postponed for various reasons, leaving Kollywood without any major releases for Diwali.
Consequently, sources suggest that the makers of Suriya 47 are now trying to cash in on the Diwali slot and are working in full swing to complete the pending works.
Therefore, if recent speculation proves true, Suriya’s Suriya 47, Prabhu Deva’s Moonwalk, and the pan-Indian film Ramayana will face a three-way clash this Diwali.
Ultimately, with no official updates on the release dates for Suriya 47 and Moonwalk, it remains to be seen whether the makers of both films will lock in the Diwali date and compete with Ramayana.
