Murugadoss in Panic: Shaves His Head for Comeback

Murugadoss Madharaasi box office flop

The film Madharaasi, starring Sivakarthikeyan and directed by A.R. Murugadoss, is struggling at the box office. Despite grossing over Rs. 70 crores, the film’s breakeven point is around Rs. 200 crores. Collections have fallen sharply, even in Tamil Nadu.

In a recent interview, Murugadoss revealed that he offered prayers at the Palani Murugan Temple for the film’s success. He recalled praying after his debut Dheena but without shaving his head. This time, he chose the ritual, calling Madharaasi more important than his first film.

Murugadoss explained that Madharaasi is his first major Tamil release after the pandemic. Several of his projects were delayed during COVID, and two never even materialised. This comeback film comes after five years, making it especially significant for him.

Although the film’s box office run is disappointing, Murugadoss said he is happy with the reviews and appreciation received. In an interview clip circulating on social media, he appeared bald under a cap, confirming his temple ritual.
