A few weeks ago, director Pradeep Ranganathan announced a surprising project, transitioning from actor to producer, tentatively titled PR01 starring Mamitha Baiju and Ashwath Marimuthu in the lead roles, directed by six directors named PR’s Alpha Unit.
Since the announcement, PR01 has had massive expectations among audiences and the background score featured in the announcement promo composed by Sai Abhyankkar was a viral hit. However, for the last few weeks, there haven’t been any updates or buzz about this project.
At the same time, Ashwath Marimuthu is currently busy with the shooting for his next directorial venture starring Rajinikanth, titled Dharman, which is progressing at a fast pace. Sources suggest that the Dharman team is planning to wrap up the shooting before the end of October.
In this scenario, now there is strong speculation that Ashwath Marimuthu has opted out of the PR01 project due to creative differences between him and the six directors.
Furthermore, there is also information that, instead of the PR01 project, Ashwath Marimuthu is planning to make his acting debut under his own direction in Dharman by playing a crucial role in it.
In response to this speculation, some feel that this might be a baseless rumour and suggest that just because Ashwath Marimuthu is busy with the shooting of Dharman, these unnecessary rumours are being spread by his contemporaries to tarnish his image. Others, however, feel the opposite way.
They feel that solely concentrating on Dharman, Ashwath Marimuthu might have opted out of PR01. They note that Pradeep Ranganathan and Ashwath Marimuthu are very close friends and if the reason were creative differences, Pradeep Ranganathan would have stepped in to resolve them. Therefore, they claim that only due to his commitment to Dharman, he might have opted out of PR01.
Ultimately, all of these are just social media speculations and there have still been no official updates on this. Hence, it remains to be seen whether Ashwath Marimuthu will make his acting debut with PR01 or Dharman in the future.
