Speculation has been rife regarding superstar Rajinikanth’s potential retirement following Jailer 2, but nothing has been officially said by the actor or his family members.
In a recent press meet, his wife Latha Rajinikanth responded to the rumours, saying, “I wish I knew the answer; if I knew, I would tell you, “keeping fans and the media in suspense regarding his future.
Rajinikanth, at 74, continues to work at a dogged intensity. He recently completed Coolie, an action entertainer by Lokesh Kanagaraj, and went into shooting Jailer 2 by Nelson Dilipkumar immediately.
There is crazy buzz around Jailer 2, with indications that Telugu star Nandamuri Balakrishna may make an appearance through a cameo, following the trade of star cameos in the franchise.
The shoot of the film recently happened in Kerala, where Rajinikanth welcomed back his Vettaiyan co-star Fahadh Faasil.
During that time, Coolie is scheduled for release on August 14, 2025, and boasts a bigger-than-life cast, with Nagarjuna, Upendra Rao, Shruti Haasan, and a cameo appearance by Aamir Khan.
Even with all the swirling rumours, Rajinikanth has made no retirement announcements and keeps inking fresh projects, keeping his fans on tenterhooks and the industry on its toes. Until now, at least, the superstar’s journey on the big screen shows no signs of slowing down.
