Vishwanath & Sons: Suriya’s Confidence or Another Trap?

Suriya in Vishwanath and Sons

Following the massive success of Karuppu, Suriya is now all set to return with his next release, Vishwanath and Sons directed by Venky Atluri, which is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on August 14th.

With only a few weeks left until the release, director Venky Atluri has started promoting the film through interviews. In one such interview, he opened up about Suriya’s response after watching the final output of Vishwanath and Sons and it is now going viral on social media.

Venky Atluri stated that Suriya has watched the final output of Vishwanath and Sons and claimed that Suriya was happy and completely satisfied with it.

Furthermore, he mentioned that he wrote about 9 drafts and had multiple versions of the script to ensure the film would be morally right. Reportedly, he also had 3 versions of the climax and Suriya suggested the version he preferred, which was the most apt one for the film.

This update from the director is triggering mixed responses from the audience. While some people feel Vishwanath and Sons is going to be a sure-shot blockbuster film that continues Suriya’s success streak, others are expressing negative views.

They point out that even before the release of Suriya’s Retro, Karthik Subbaraj had stated the same thing that Suriya was very happy with the output and Suriya himself confirmed that Retro was a solid film during pre-release events. However, Retro ended up as a terrible failure. Hence, they suggest that we cannot judge the final output of a film based solely on Suriya’s response.

Meanwhile, some people feel Venky Atluri is playing it safe by making comments that Suriya suggested the climax and Jyothika made some changes. They note that Venky Atluri is making such comments just to protect himself from trolls if the film fails to connect with the audience.

Ultimately, it remains to be seen whether Vishwanath and Sons satisfies the expectations of the audience and emerges as a blockbuster success, helping Suriya maintain his success streak upon its release on August 14th.
