India is witnessing large scale investment and development in the field of computer technology. The companies that once came to India to get the best of the brains to work in countries like the US are now establishing facilities in India itself. One the biggest semiconductor companies of the world has established its biggest design center in India. This is certainly going to boost the tech environment in the country inviting many more bigger investments.

AMD is going to focus on the design and development of semiconductors technology with special emphasis on 3D stacking, artificial intelligence and machine learning. One of the biggest reasons for establishing the biggest design center in India is the large talent pool of engineers available here.

The center will focus on developing products for high performance CPUs that are usually deployed at big data centers as well as personal computers. Another important product for the company is the gaming graphics processing units (GPUs).

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Union Minister for Railways, Telecommunication, Electronics and Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw. The result is a success of India’s semiconductor program which was launched earlier to promote semiconductor development in India.
