US To Celebrate Indian Independence Day Soon

America Indian Independence DayA resolution has been introduced in the United States House of Representatives, the lower chamber of Congress, proposing to designate August 15 as a National Day of Celebration for the World’s Two Largest Democracies in honor of Indian Independence Day. The initiative is spearheaded by Indian-American Congressman Shri Thanedar and enjoys the co-sponsorship of Congressman Buddy Carter and Brad Sharman.

This step will strengthen the ties between India and the USA as they share some common grounds in their notion of democracy.

Notably, the resolution draws attention to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visit to the United States on June 22. The resolution acknowledges the significant contributions of Indian-Americans in various sectors, including government, military, and law enforcement. Given these factors, the resolution argues that it is fitting and desirable to join in celebrating with the Indian community and strengthening the importance of democratic principles.
