Dating Website Leads To the Death

There have been a lot of scandals happening on dating apps lately. A significant number of people have reported getting scammed via these apps. And for a student in the US, a dating website allegedly led to her worst nightmare.

An Indian-origin man, Bobby Singh Shah, 51, was arrested on Wednesday for the charge of murder of a 21-year-old Nepalese college student named Muna Pandey. It turns out he didn’t pay much heed to his surroundings as a surveillance camera revealed his face and led to his arrest. The CCTV footage shows that Shah held the victim at gunpoint and forced his entry to rob her house before brutally shooting her.

The police suspect the culprit knew Pandey via a sugar daddy dating website. He has been on the website for more than a decade, as another woman met him online 12 years ago and tipped off the police. This begs the question is this the only time he has done such a heinous act? Or is it just one of the stories that has come out? There might be more skeletons in his closet that police are still investigating.

As for the victim, it is tragic news for her family who are flying from Nepal to the US to get her remains. It turns out women are not safe anywhere. Whether it is real life or online, predators find a way to target them. While the investigation is still ongoing, there is incriminating evidence against Shah who will get his due punishment soon.
