US authorities are investigating the tragic deaths of the affluent Indian-origin couple and their teenage daughter in their $5 million Massachusetts residence which has taken the Indian American community by storm.
Rakesh Kamal, 57, Teena Kamal, 54, and their 18-year-old daughter, Ariana, were found dead on Thursday. Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey categorized the incident as a “domestic violence situation” due to the presence of a gun near Rakesh’s body. The medical examiner has yet to ascertain the cause of death.
The Kamals, former operators of the now-dissolved EduNova education systems company, faced financial challenges, leading to the foreclosure and $3 million sale of their mansion.
Ariana, a recent graduate of Milton Academy, was remembered as a bright student. At Middlebury College, she was lauded as a brilliant neuroscience student actively engaged in class and valued in the choir community.
Despite residing in a prosperous neighborhood in Dover, Massachusetts, financial struggles cast a shadow over the Kamals. The discovery of the family’s demise occurred when a concerned relative, unable to reach them for a day or two, visited the mansion.
