In a concerning incident at a McDonald’s in Alexandria, two high school students are now in custody after a gun shoot inside McDonald’s bathroom. Responding to the report of a gunshot at the Franconia Road location, Fairfax County Police discovered that no one was injured, but several teenagers were observed leaving the scene after the incident.

A witness description led officers to a car leaving the area, and they promptly apprehended a high school student in connection with the shooting. Subsequent investigation revealed that both students attended Edison High School. One of the students returned to the school after the incident, leading to collaboration between Fairfax County officers and the Edison School Resource Officer to locate and detain the involved student.

Surveillance footage played a crucial role in the investigation, showing one of the high school students entering a bathroom where a concealed firearm was later found above a ceiling tile. Charges include carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a firearm on school property. The second student faces charges of carrying a concealed weapon, brandishing, and reckless discharge of a firearm. Detectives continue to probe the circumstances surrounding the discharge within the McDonald’s bathroom. The incident highlights the importance of maintaining safety in public spaces, particularly in school environments.
