Some harrowing stories from the deported Indians have left the entire nation in shock. If getting handcuffed for a 40-hour journey wasn’t outrageous enough, a student claims she was arrested on her trip to Mexico and deported back to India without warning.
Muskan, a 21-year-old woman from Ludhiana, told the media that she is pursuing her higher education in London and was visiting the Tijuana border with her friends. She insists they never tried to enter the US illegally, but got suddenly detained without any warning by the authorities.

She wasn’t even given any explanation or interrogated while spending 10 days in the detention center. “We were never told we were being taken to India,” she said, claiming it was only when the military plane landed in Amritsar that she realized they were deported.
Her family is equally in shock as they took a loan of ₹15 lakh to secure a future for their daughter. They are pleading with the government to allow Muskan back to the UK so she can continue her business management course at CU College, London.

The US’s drastic measures against immigration have turned into blind rage against immigrant communities. The Indian government should investigate Muskan’s story and ensure her a safe trip back to her college.
