Netflix Bella Bajaria

The person behind some of the greatest Netflix original series and films like Squid Game, Bridgerton, and Wednesday is an Indian-origin woman Bella Bajaria. Managing and giving the green light to 500 projects from 27 countries, the Chief Content Officer is taking the streaming giant to newer heights.

Bajaria was the only Indian-American woman on The Wrap’s ‘Changemakers 2024’ list. The fifth edition of this annual recognition featured 51 women who “shaped industries, inspired change, and broke barriers this year.”

The Indian American executive has managed a massive $17 billion production budget for Netflix this year. In return, the platform has gained much acclaim for its shows including 24 Emmy wins in 2024.

There is much to celebrate on the business end as Netflix’s revenue jumped 15% to $9.8 billion in Q3. This upward trajectory is maintained despite slow subscriber growth, driven by audience favorites like Blue Eye Samurai and Baby Reindeer.

Bajaria, who started as a cashier in her parents’ carwash, has worked with some of the biggest networks, such as CBS. She became the first Indian woman to lead Universal Television before joining Netflix in 2016.




For seven years, she spearheaded scripted and unscripted content on the OTT platform before assuming her current role as CCO. Her inspiring journey has given her the elite spot alongside some of the greatest women in the industry.
