Believe it or not, corruption is still deeply embedded in our system, and it’s not likely to be removed anytime soon. One such terrible incident of corruption was observed in an oil rig construction company.
An executive officer at Sembcorp Marine Commercial was arrested on corruption charges totaling $202,877. The individual was involved in numerous illegal transactions spanning from 2015 to 2021.
However, his bribery and transactions came to light when he was apprehended by Singapore’s anti-corruption agency.
According to sources, the individual used to accept substantial bribes to secure extensions for business deals with contractors.
What was even more surprising was the revelation that the person caught on corruption charges is of Indian nationality. Currently, he is facing 14 charges of corruption and is under arrest. This not only highlights the serious issue of illegal transactions but also portrays Indians in a negative light on the global stage.
