New York is breaking, and at some places it is leaking, soaking and drowning as well. The crippling infrastructure of the centuries old city is reaching its tipping point and whenever there’s an extraordinary situation, the city’s cry for help can be seen everywhere. New York City was recently hit by severe rain and it brought the whole city to a standstill. A video is going viral from one of the train stations of New York where the station can be seen getting flooded by water from everywhere.
The subway station shown in the video is apparently at Christopher Street. It is not only the drains that seem to be leaking. The walls, tracks and even the roof of the station has transformed into a shower. The man who posted the video gave a warning to the commuters to bring an umbrella.
The Governor had to declare a state of emergency when the rains caused a flash flood in the region. Many transit systems including the subway were partially suspended for hours till the crew could clear the water from the tracks.
The video can be compared with the local stations of India getting flooded in Monsoon. Some netizens are saying that the condition of New York is now even worse than that.
