If you’re a permanent resident of Canada having an Indian origin, then there’s great news for you. The Canadian government is soon going to allow you to bring your parents and grandparents to live permanently in Canada with the new Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship. It is inviting applications from eligible sponsors for a total of 15,000 sponsorships.
Those who are 18 years and above, a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or registered under the Canadian Indian Act can apply for this scheme. The applicant must have enough financial resources to support his family in order to be eligible for selection.
The applications are going to commence from the 10th of October, 2023. The invitations for the application will be sent out by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada(IRCC).
There’s another option for those who miss out on this scheme. There’s a provision for a Super Visa that will allow parents or grandparents to stay in the country for an extended period. This Visa has a validity of 10 years and holders can stay in the country for a maximum continuous period of 5 years. This can be extended further by a period of 2 years.
