In a bizarre turn of events that led to the death of two Indian nationals and left one deeply wounded in Canada, the Canadian Police had the audacity to suspect mistaken identity behind the act.
57-year-old Jagtar Singh was shot dead while his wife, 55-year-old Harbhajan Kaur, died later at the hospital in the town of Caledon, Ontario. Their daughter was injured gravely too and her condition remains critical.
According to the police, the attack was targeted but at someone else. The only person missing from the house during the incident was their son, who is an international student.
This statement of police could not hide the lack of accountability that they have displayed as it is the Police’s duty to keep the citizens safe. Rather, criminals are shooting down a family, that too, ‘mistakenly’.
The police don’t have much information about the attackers except that a vehicle was burnt near the place of the attack. Whether it was some vendetta against the family or was it actually an incident of mistaken identity, we expect an answer from the Canadian Police.
