Racism Against Indians Still Prominent In The USA

Racism Against Indians

The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, released a report on Wednesday. Which was based on a 2020 YouGov survey focusing on 1200 Indian respondents, among 1.8M Americans. And, from the result it was very evident that 50% Indian Americans till this date face discrimination based on their origin and skin colour. 4 in 10 respondents said they identify with that label, “Indian American”, This itself is a very contradictory label.

One in two Indian Americans says that they face discrimination on a daily basis. From a survey it was proven that, most of all foreign born Indians don’t report about the incidents because, discrimination racism is the reality. Even after a healthy cooperation from India, Indians still have to face racism.

The discrimination is made by their land of origin, culture and skin colour, even the diversity of language is considered as something weird.

With the advancement of time, and the progression of society, issues like caste discrimination and racism should stop. But, as we can see from the results of the survey, it is very disheartening that we still have to face such discrimination in a foreign land.
