Raghu Kodali, a 61-year-old Indian hiker of Telugu origin from Readington Township, New Jersey, was found dead near the Appalachian Trail in Lehigh Township, Pennsylvania, close to Blue Mountain Ski Area.
He had been reported missing on Saturday, and his body was discovered on Sunday afternoon.
The cause and manner of his death are still under investigation by the Northampton County Coroner’s Office.
A Command Center was established near Blue Mountain Ski Resort to coordinate the search efforts, involving various rescue teams and county officials.
Emergency crews, including the Lehigh Township Fire Department, Wolfpack Search and Recovery, and state police, conducted a search lasting several hours before finding Kodali’s body.
Initially reported missing near midnight on Saturday, efforts to locate him included canvassing the Appalachian Trail area.
