On his three-day official visit to the US, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Tesla CEO and Twitter owner Elon Musk. “I’m a fan of Modi,” Musk said after their meeting, recalling the Prime Minister’s visit to the Tesla plant some years before. Musk expressed his optimism about India’s future, saying it has more potential than any other huge nation.
Modi and Musk first met in 2015 during the Prime Minister’s visit to the Tesla Motors facility in California. Musk stated, “I am confident Tesla will be in India and will do so as soon as humanly possible.” Musk applauded Prime Minister Modi’s commitment to India and his support for large investments in the nation, which aligns with Tesla’s strategy. He underlined the necessity to establish the correct moment but underscored Modi’s commitment to help and develop enterprises while benefiting India.
In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Musk stated, “Absolutely.” Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanked Elon Musk for their meeting on Twitter. “Great meeting you today @elonmusk!” he wrote. We spoke about energy, spirituality, and more.” Musk reacted to the tweet with “It was an honor to meet again.”
Musk was praised by Prime Minister Modi for making technology inexpensive and accessible. He invited Musk to invest in India’s commercial space and electric transportation sectors. On Tuesday morning, the Prime Minister left for the US on a State Visit designated for Washington DC’s closest friends. Addressing a joint session of Congress, engaging with business leaders and Indian expatriates, and attending a state banquet at the White House hosted by US President Joe Biden were on the agenda.
