In October , 2023 a 24 years old man, Shail Sharma was proven guilty for stabbing his wife Mehak till death.
He has been sentenced to life imprisonment, with a minimum term of 15 years before his parole.
At Ash Tree Way in Croydon, which is situated in South London, the body of the dead wife was found with 18 stab wounds, and Sahil beside the body.
Detective Inspector ,Laura Semple from the Met Police’s Specialist Crime Command said, “ This is a tragic case that has completely devastated a family. In killing his wife, Sharma has robbed her family of a loving daughter for reasons known only to himself”.
Marriage is a sacred bond which makes a family whole. A woman feels safe when she is with her husband but, with time the increasing amount of wife murder is taking a huge number.
Not only outside India, even inside India the cases of wife being murdered is taking up a huge number, which simultaneously increases the crime rate of India.
Laura also added, “While I am aware that nothing can bring Mehak Sharma back to them, I hope the sentencing will bring some closure to her loved ones”.
The night of the murder Sahil himself called the emergency number 999 and told them that he killed his wife.
The post mortem reports say that the primary cause of Mehak’s death is knife wounds on her neck.
