‘Tu Hai Mera Sunday’ is a 2016 slice of life movie directed by Milind Dhaimade. This movie has some of the most real characters that you will ever see in a movie. The story revolves around Arjun played by Barun Sobti, Rashid played by Avinash Tiwary and their 3 friends. They meet every Sunday on a beach to play football as an escape from their busy life in Mumbai.
Their weekly plan gets ruined when the ball accidentally hits an influential lady. Now they begin to look for another place to play in Mumbai and the story follows with various cute and funny interactions among the characters.
Actors such as Barun Sobti and Avinash Tiwary put a very sincere effort in front of the camera. The innocence of those characters is beautifully fleshed out in their writing. The argument between Dominic played by Vishal Malhotra and his brother is one of the highlights of the effortless writing in this 2 hour 7 minutes movie.
THMS also has some of the most delicately written female characters. Shahana Goswami portrays Arjun’s love interest. A warm yet unconventional role. One of the most interesting characters of the movie is of a single mother Tasneem played by Rasika Dugal who was highly praised in the series Mirzapur.
