Amazon Prime Day Sale is an ultimate shopping state now customers can buy premium products at unbelievable discounts.
But for many keen eyed shoppers, this marketing strategy is starting to crack.
Several customers are calling out the shopping giant for what they describe as “manipulated pricing” tactics.
A common complaint?
The high priced products that they kept on their wishlist so that they could buy it during the sale mysteriously went up in price during the sale, showing “discount” near the price tag.
For example, a smartphone that was priced at ₹999 just a week before the sale,at the time of the Prime Day event, the same item was shown at ₹1,199, slashing down to ₹1,049.
This gives off the illusion of a deal when, in fact, it has become more costly.
This kind of pricing inflation prior to sales isn’t new, but the way the prices get higher during the sale is just deceiving the customer.
Shoppers are feeling cheated, mainly those who have planned purchases during these “exclusive” offers.
Many have taken to social media platforms to talk about their frustration and this marketing strategy.
While Amazon claims transparency and customer-first policies, incidents like these go beyond their own moral trust.
It serves as a reminder that consumers need to stay alert and verify prices over time instead of falling for the “Sale” banners.
Amazon Prime Day sale is an eyewash. A couple of items i'd been tracking have actually gone up in price despite being shown as marked down in sale!
