This year’s film festival will be closed with The Idea of You, starring Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Galitzine. The film chronicles the interaction between a 40-something single mother and a young man. To commemorate the event, the streamer provided the first peek at the film.
The snapshot does not reveal much, but it shows a very suave Galitzine going down the road with Hathway, and the two appear to be thoroughly captivated. With its brilliant colors and dream-like photography, the film appears to be a fresh, enjoyable twist on the romcom genre.
The film, directed by Michael Showalter, follows Solène (Hathway), a 40-year-old single mother, who initiates an unexpected affair with Hayes, the 24-year-old lead singer of August Moon, the hottest boy band on the globe. The two meet at the Coachella Music Festival when Solène is forced to chaperone her adolescent daughter.
After an accidental encounter at a music festival, she is swept up in a whirlwind affair. However, their relationship takes a turn when Hayes’ famous status disrupts it, pushing her to accept life in the spotlight.
The film is based on Robinne Lee’s novel and stars Ella Rubin, Reid Scott, Annie Mumolo, Viktor White, Raymond Cham, Jaiden Anthony, and Dakota Adan. Galitzine, well-known for Cinderella, will return from Netflix’s Purple Hearts. Hathway has had a productive year with Eileen and She Came to Me. It will be broadcast on Amazon Prime.
