Outdated & Disgusting? Forced Romance in Bigg Boss

Bigg Boss forced romance criticised by fans

Bigg Boss has always relied on romance to boost TRPs. The format of locking housemates inside a house with no outside contact makes viewers curious, and a love angle has long been part of the drama that keeps them engaged.

But audience preferences are changing. Modern viewers are not always interested in forced romantic tracks and often prefer watching genuine tasks, rivalries, and strategy instead of scripted love stories.

Despite this shift, the makers continue to push romantic angles this season too. Abhishek-Ashnoor, Farhana-Baseer, and Amaal-Tanya are among the pairs whose relationships seem forcefully included to spice up the show.

These contestants were first shown fighting and arguing, and now they suddenly take a stand for each other. For instance, Amaal supported Tanya Mittal when Kunickaa Sadanand dragged Tanya’s mother into a task, which turned into a heated moment.

Even normal conversations between housemates are shown with a romantic undertone, which feels unnecessary. Many fans feel Bigg Boss should now focus on fresh ways to engage the audience instead of using outdated romance tracks.
