The “Insidious” horror franchise gained immense popularity with its previous parts, and its recent installment, “Insidious: The Red Door,” garnered much hype and a substantial box office collection during its theatrical run. Despite being labeled as a weak sequel to the previous movie by critics, this film went on to become one of the biggest blockbusters of 2023. Now, the movie is ready for its OTT release on Netflix.
“Insidious” follows the Lambert family, who have experienced a great deal of trouble and are now trying to recover from the ghosts of the past. Dalton, who was once a small child, is now a 19-year-old, but he still can’t remember anything about the events of the last few years.
Patrick Wilson, who has also taken the director’s chair for the first time in this movie, has done a commendable job. However, what we miss in the movie is consistency in the jump scares. The film has some of the scariest moments at times, while in many scenes, it feels a bit lackluster.
The “Insidious” franchise, which began its journey as a standalone movie in 2010, is now on its fifth installment, and it’s uncertain whether this will be the end of the franchise. “Insidious: The Red Door” is set to premiere on Netflix on October 6th.
