Euphoria has been one of the most popular high school dramas that has impacted the audience in recent times. The show unapologetically showed teenage complexities involving drug abuse, mental health, and sexuality. Another plus point of the show was that it never tried to glamorize anything and never tried to justify their actions.
The show has two seasons as of now. Fans have been waiting for its third season to drop, which was announced long ago. But since then, nothing much has been confirmed as of now. HBO, which holds the rights to the show, has been delaying it, and every month we get to see some changes taking place in the writing department. Recently, it was being said that Rue was going to be the pregnancy surrogate, but HBO dismissed the idea, which was pitched by Zendaya.
Such complexities in the writers’ room suggest that the makers are not confident with the material they have created. They still need some time to fix things. And we must also remember that the show has been called out for its poor writing at times.
