With the recent release of the teaser trailer on March 22, 2024, fans are already buzzing with excitement as they caught a glimpse of what’s in store for Gotham’s most notorious gangster.

“It was a long and really wonderful experience,” Farrell shared about his time filming “The Penguin.” “It’s dark; that’s what I can tell you about it. It’s really dark. It’s really heavy, I think— it certainly was doing it. Which is not to say I didn’t have fun, I had an amazing time doing it. It’s incredibly violent.”

But what else can viewers expect from this tale? Well, buckle up, because it’s going to be one hell of a ride.

Following the events of Matt Reeves’ “The Batman,” “The Penguin” picks up the pieces in a Gotham left reeling from the chaos unleashed by the Caped Crusader. With the death of Carmine Falcone, Oswald Cobblepot seizes the opportunity to climb to the top of the criminal hierarchy.

But it won’t be an easy ascent. As Farrell hints, Oswald’s journey is fraught with danger, betrayal, and plenty of bloodshed. With Cristin Milioti joining the cast as Sofia Falcone, Michael Zegen as Carmine’s son Alberto, and Clancy Brown as Salvatore Maroni, Oswald will face formidable foes and unexpected allies in his quest for dominance.

And let’s not forget about the talented ensemble cast, including Michael Kelly, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Deirdre O’Connell, and Rhenzy Feliz, whose roles are shrouded in mystery.

But perhaps the most exciting aspect of “The Penguin” is its potential to delve deep into the psyche of one of Batman’s most complex villains. With Farrell at the helm, audiences can expect a portrayal that is both menacing and magnetic, showcasing Oswald’s cunning intellect and insatiable thirst for power.
