If there’s ever a huge hit, Netflix makes sure that they get every last dollar out of it no matter what it takes. When the Squid Game was released in 2021, it became an instant hit throughout the world. Even the language barrier couldn’t stop it from having this huge success at the platform. Netflix has had plans for the series ever since and if some sources are to be believed, David Fincher might be working on a US version of Squid Game.
According to Jeff Sneider, the project is very much in the play and it would turn into reality. Netflix wanted to get the most out of the show and hence have been trying to rope in David Fincher for the role of the director. Some of the Fincher fans are bound to have mixed reactions if this is true
Directing an already successful show with huge fan following is risky and not always worth it. In the meanwhile, Netflix has finished shooting for the second season of Squid Game which will be releasing soon. Another spin-off of the show is also in the works which means Netflix really wants to get the most out of this hit.
There’s no clarity when this US version of Squid Game will be in production. David Fincher is famous for the remake of Swedish film The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.
