As of now, the “D” in Disney indeed stands for disaster as the company continues to face backlashes, and it’s not even because the fans are being negative. Previously, they were already fighting several allegations regarding shadowing their earnings.
They were even sinister enough not to comply with the writers. In their own ‘Disneyworld,’ they thought it would set a bad example for future protesters. Now, amidst all the ongoing situations, they mess up once again.
And this time, it is regarding their poster designs. They have used the same poster for the character Captain Carson Teva for both Ahsoka and The Mandalorian. They are indeed working on the fact that if a guy has a good photo, they use it everywhere.
Twitter indeed had a deserving cruel laugh about it as they were very quick to point it out. Some even talked about it being the impact of the ongoing strike. Some even jokingly said, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”
So, the designing disaster of Disney isn’t brand new for the company. They were already facing massive backlash regarding their Marvel designs as they were too similar to their Star Wars designs, and as the latter franchise is now at the receiving end of such criticism.
There was also one such incident regarding the Star Wars franchise, especially Solo: A Star Wars Story. As they released four posters in 2018, they created some buzz among the fans, but one French designer had other things to say. He said they resembled Sony Music France’s Legacy Recordings series that were designed by him.
Now, we obviously don’t know how Disney will get away from the backlash, but they still have a strong fanbase for their two biggest assets. Gifting them some juicy news or teasers will make this how, that’s for sure.
