After delivering two consecutive blockbusters in 2023, Shah Rukh Khan is set to return with his upcoming project titled “Dunki,” directed by Rajkumar Hirani. “Dunki” alludes to the illegal route to foreign countries, also known as The Donkey Route.
A teaser, released today, referred to as “Drop 1,” provides a sneak peek into the unique world created by Rajkumar Hirani. It introduces a group of individuals with personal reasons for wanting to travel to London. The teaser begins with a scene in a desolate area where Shah Rukh Khan and the group are being pursued by a sniper. However, the tone quickly transitions to Rajkumar Hirani’s trademark quirky dialogues and storytelling.
“Dunki” boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, and Boman Irani, who is a recurring presence in Rajkumar Hirani’s filmography. The teaser also features the soulful voice of Sonu Nigam, singing the song “Badi Door Se Aaye Hain,” composed by Pritam.
This brief yet captivating teaser provides a glimpse of the emotional rollercoaster journey that awaits in “Dunki.” The film is produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Rajkumar Hirani Films and is scheduled for release on Christmas 2023.
