Ektaa Kapoor has entered a creative partnership with Netflix India, as Balaji Telefilms prepares to produce two new web series for the platform. This move strengthens their ongoing collaboration in the digital space.
This development comes nearly ten months after both sides announced a long term partnership. Netflix aims to build on earlier successes like Kathal, Pagglait, Jaane Jaan, and Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare.
The first series, tentatively titled “Koke”, is expected to be a large scale period drama. It will feature an ensemble cast and focus on strong storytelling set against a historical backdrop.
Shefali Shah will play a key role in the project. This marks another important OTT collaboration for the actor, who has consistently delivered strong performances in digital content.
The series will be directed by Nupur Asthana, known for shows like Four More Shots Please! and The Royals. Production is scheduled to begin on April 20, 2026, in Mumbai.
The second project under this deal is yet to be titled. Industry reports suggest it will be directed by Sahir Raza, who is known for The Married Woman and Illegal – Justice, Out of Order.
Casting for the second series is currently in progress. Production is expected to start in the coming months as the team finalises key details and prepares for filming.
Sahir Raza was earlier associated with “Ragini 3” under Balaji Telefilms. However, he exited the project due to delays, making this new collaboration an important step forward.
These upcoming series are part of Netflix India’s growing content slate. The platform is also backing films like Bhooth Bangla, set for release on April 17, 2026, and Vvan: Force of the Forest, expected on August 28, 2026.
Other projects in development include “Heer Ranjha” and “The Terror Report”. This line up reflects a wide mix of genres and storytelling styles aimed at diverse audiences.
