Ganpath Trailer: Mediocrity At Its Best

Ganpath TrailerWhile the teaser had already set a low bar for “Ganpath,” the newly released trailer confirms the notion that Indian cinema may struggle in the realm of science fiction and superhero movies. Although the plot is set in 2070, it appears to follow a rather generic storyline reminiscent of 1980s Bollywood movies. It features a hero from humble beginnings battling a wealthy villain for the betterment of society. However, the traditional wrestling akhadas have been replaced with MMA fight arenas, and the rugged hero has transformed into the clean-shaven and chiseled Tiger Shroff.

Even a 10-year-old could likely summarize the entire plot within minutes. It appears that the filmmakers have made minimal effort in terms of crafting a compelling story, establishing an immersive world, and writing engaging dialogues.

As for the visual effects, they seem to fall short of expectations. This situation parallels that of “Adipurush,” where the VFX appears to be either intentionally or unintentionally odd, making it difficult for the audience to appreciate. The filmmakers are attempting to bolster their project’s appeal by associating it with Vikas Bahl, known for his previous successes like “Super 30” and “Queen.” While these were undoubtedly well-made films, this promotional tactic may come across as an attempt to deceive the audience.

If they believe they can capitalize on the director’s brand value, kudos to their belief. Please watch this trailer and share your opinion with M9
