The Hollywood actor, George Clooney, who became famous for playing Batman in Batman and Robin, Danny Ocean in the Ocean’s Eleven and Dr. Doug Ross in ER will be producing and directing a new spy thriller series called The Department. It is about a group of spies who work for a secret branch of the British Government that tackles global threats as outlined in the book by Matt Charman.
Michael Fassbender, an Oscar-nominated actor who has participated in X-Men: First Class as Magneto, Steve Jobs as Steve Jobs himself and Prometheus David joined the cast of this film. He will portray Tom, a spy who grapples between his patriotic duties to his country and family life while he is on the verge of realizing there is a plot to destroy every living thing on earth.
The Department is expected to be thrilling show that explores moral dilemmas and lives at stake, state secrets to protect or expose, deceitful missions among others.
His aim however is to create a realistic depiction of the world of spying with Fassbender being an ideal choice for the leading role due to his flamboyant personality which makes it impossible for him to draw a line between him and his character.
