In the theaters, Hawa became a sensation, a success in the domestic market, and numerous critical appreciation on the way. Hawa was released on 29 July 2022 and later screened in India in multiple film festivals including Bangladesh Film Festival and Kolkata International Film Festival.
The film revolves around a group of fishermen who were on a journey to catch fish. Instead of fishes, they caught a mysterious woman in their fishing net. The woman is mute and seems to be possessed by a spirit. The fishermen start to experience strange and frightening events, and they soon realize that the woman is not what she seems.
The film is an owner of a compelling storyline but it doesn’t stop there. The visuals are as stunning as paintings and the music is so captivating that you shouldn’t spare a single word complimenting them.
Hawa is produced by Motion Pictures Limited and Sun Music. Famous faces like Chanchal Chowdhury, Sariful Islam Razz, Sumon Anowar, Nazifa, and others will play a critical role to make your experience a phenomenal one.
Hawa also became the official entry of Bangladesh for the Best Picture Award at the Oscars 2023 and it became a loved film by the viewers and critics.
