Every year, there are a bunch of great Indian movies shown at the prestigious Toronto Film Festival. Here’s a list of this year’s additions to TIFF 2023. Do check out these movies and indulge the movie enthusiast within you.
The first movie being shown at TIFF is ‘Kill.’ It is an action drama that tells the story of Amrit and Tulika, who are about to get married. Unfortunately, the train on which Tulika is traveling gets hijacked by bandits. Amrit, a military commando, and his allies must now protect everyone.
The second movie on the list is ‘Dear Jassi,’ directed by Tarsem Singh. It’s set in the 90s and follows the story of a girl named Jassi, who is all set to go to Canada but falls in love with a rickshaw driver.
The next story revolves around two brides named Jaya and Phool. In this delightful comedy of errors during a train journey, they get swapped, leading to a chaotic situation. This movie is titled ‘Laapata Ladies.’
‘Steal’ is a Marathi film produced by Discovery. The story is about a woman about to get married and the problems she faces during interviews and family meetings.
Apart from these, there are a few more movies like ‘Thank You for Coming’ and ‘Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam.’ TIFF has excellent taste when it comes to selecting movies.
